Quote of the Day

When you look at the crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then. When you look at the Sacred Host, you understand how much Jesus loves you now.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament - An Introduction PDF Print E-mail

If you have a really good friend, or if you are married, then you know what it takes to be in a relationship with someone. Two of the most important things you can do to deepen your friendship is to spend time together, and to talk with each other frequently.

The best friend and the love of our souls is Jesus Christ. Yet many of us suffer from a feeling that we don't really know who Jesus is, or we don't feel like we have a personal relationship with Him. Jesus is more like a figure from a history book to us, or some mysterious God-man who we know we have obligations to, yet we don't really feel anything in our hearts towards Him.

Adoration: The Answer to Deepening our Relationship With Christ

The solution to this personal struggle is to deepen your relationship with Jesus. Just as you would with any human friend or your spouse, you have to make a decided effort to get to know Him better. You have to spend time with Him, and speak with Him often. In other words, you need to spend time in prayer.

Eucharistic Adoration is the best way we have on this earth to spend a long time in quiet conversation with Jesus. You'll recall that just before Jesus physically left the apostles and ascended to the Father, he reassured them, "And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20) This statement is fulfilled in the reality of Jesus' Real Presence in the Eucharist, in the hands of the priest at Mass each day, reserved in the tabernacles in the heart of our churches, and right before our very eyes in Eucharistic Adoration.

Seminarian Gary Holmes Testimonial PDF Print E-mail

My name is Gary and I am a seminarian with the Missionaries of the Most Holy Eucharist in Sanary.  Originally from Dublin, I am the youngest of six in an Irish Catholic family.  My spiritual journey started at a young age since my mother often brought me to Lourdes on pilgrimage.  These experiences had a very profound effect on me which gave rise to a strong devotion to the Holy Mass and the Holy Rosary.  Indeed, as a child I often read through the Mass in the privacy of my own room.  Through Mary I felt the closeness of Jesus in my life and I promised to do whatever they wanted from me.  I’ve learned by experience that they never forget when you make a promise to them.
As I got older, though I kept my Devotion to the Holy Mass and the Rosary, I wanted to be in control of my life and I qualified as an accountant and hoped to get married and have a devoted family.  But God had a different plan.
In my first Accountancy job, I was blessed to have a Church right beside work.  There was Holy Mass there every day, in the morning and the evening.  But, on top of that, the Most Holy Sacrament was exposed all day.  It was during this time that I started to make regular visits to Jesus.

Blessed Divine Mercy Sunday PDF Print E-mail

April 11, 2010

"Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy.” (Saint Faustina's Diary 699)

"I adore You, Lord and Creator, hidden in the Blessed Sacrament.  I adore You for all the works of Your hands, that reveal to me so much wisdom, goodness and mercy, O Lord.  You have spread so much beatury over the earth, and it tells me about Your beauty, even though these beautiful things are but a faint reflection of You, Incomprehensible Beauty.  And although You have hidden Yourself and concealed Your beauty, my eye, enlightened by faith, reaches You, and my soul recognizes its Creator, its Highest Good; and my heart is completely immersed in prayer of adoration.  (Saint Faustina's Diary 1692)

Cancer Ministry Volunteer Testimonial PDF Print E-mail

Since the opening of the chapel (St. Peregrine Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel), committed adorers have come to sit all hours of the day and night. It is quite impressive to know that over 400 people have signed up to adore Him for one hour, once a week.

Visiting with Jesus every week, is a powerful experience. You cannot come in with your troubles and leave with same state of mind. The effects of his presence are profound and cannot be easily dismissed. Although we say “Yes” to Jesus at weekly mass, being before him in the Chapel is a different kind of feeling. Sometimes it is overwhelming.

Immediately upon entering, I can sense His spirit fill the air. My eyes become transfixed on the spectacular monstrance before me. He seems to pierce my very soul at the moment of entry, pulling out all my emotions, even ones I don’t even know I have. It’s not always easy being before the King. He seems to expose my very heart; not for my own humiliation, but for His healing touch.

We may enter this place with broken lives and flowing tears, but we know He has been waiting for us with endless Love, Comfort and Joy – Peace comes from Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Please pray for the protectiion of God's plan for marriage between one man and one woman.  Across America, especially in California, good and evil is going on right now on this moral issue.

Prayer Requests

During this "Year for Priests" Catholic Adoration is asking all Adorers to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for our priests.  The following prayer from Saint Maria Faustina's Diary would be appropriate

"O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church:  Grant it love and the light of Your Spirit, and give power to the words of priests so that hardened hearts might be brought to repentance and return to You, O Lord.

Lord, give us holy priests; You Yourself maintain them in holiness.  O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of your mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devil's traps and snares which are continually being set for the souls of priests.  May the power of Your mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of priests, for You can do all things.  AMEN."  (Diary of St. Maria Faustina, 1052)
